Doyle Weiss

THIS IS YOUR LIFE DOYLE WEISS

How many people meet their future spouse in an airport bar?

Why, Doyle and Beppie did, it is not so bizarre.

As Doyle turned ninety earlier this month, here's a look back at his life

It has been filled with love, laughter and health and only a bit of strife.

Doyle was born in Kansas in 1931

He had a bright future, it was obvious to everyone.

He has been a railroad brakeman and has taught ballroom dance

If you were Beppie, wouldn’t you give him a chance at romance?

Doyle served in Korea flying off aircraft carriers in a Navy jet

We owe you our sincere gratitude, Doyle, for being a US vet.

He went to KU for undergrad then onto Carnegie for grad school

Being a professor of business at Purdue and British Columbia too.

The best thing Doyle has ever done was marrying Beppie in ‘74

They moved to Iowa in ’89 and have lived here forevermore.

Wine, candles and a tablecloth at each and every evening meal

Since the day they wed, their devotion to each other is very real.

Three children among them they nurtured and reared

Love was constant in their house, it never disappeared.

Together Doyle and Beppie like to camp, travel, and dance

All this togetherness for their love it did enhance.

Doyle, himself, has many talents and interests galore

With both of them gliding all over the dance floor.

Fly fishing got him in nature where he could hear the fish call

And still lifting weights into his nineties… you shame us all.

You are an inspiration to all of us who know you

And hope you don’t mind a bit of this hullabaloo.

For, Doyle, we wish you nothing but the best from us all

As you continue to beat many of us at the game of pickleball!
